Alessio Deli

Alessio Deli was born in Marino near Rome in 1981. After studying Art at Marino’s Art Institute, he went on to graduate with top marks from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara where he specialized in sculpture.

Deli has made a name for himself in the Italian art world with works made from recycled metal, wood and plastic that he has scavenged from dump sites. Although Deli’s sculptural style is rooted in the classical tradition, his desire to breathe new life into defunct and cast-off materials gives his works a relevant, postmodern twist. Sculptures by Deli are to be found in prestigious permanent collections including the Papal Collections and the MacS, Catania’s Museum of Contemporary Art.
